US Country Music Singer Don Williams Dies At 78

Legendary US country music singer and Nashville songwriter best known for his 1981 hit ballad I Believe in You, has died at the age of 78 leaving the country music world in shock.

A press release from the singer’s PR team confirmed his death, saying the Hall of Fame member died at home after a short illness and funeral arrangements are pending.

The death of the legendary singer who is regarded as one of the greatest and certainly most distinctive voices in country music history, comes two years after he officially retired from music.

The Texas born singer who is best-known for his several hit tracks, including ‘Tulsa Time’, ‘Back in My Younger Days’, ‘You’re My Best Friend’, ‘Lord, I Hope This Day Is Good’, and ‘Some Broken Hearts Never Mend’ among many others is survived by his wife, Joy Bucher and his two children, Gary Williams and Tim Williams.
